The Lewis and Clark expedtion originated in St. Louis and ended up in Ft. Clatsop winter quarters on the west coast. On this expedtion, Sacagawea, Lewis, and Clark traveled west to explore the new land purchased. They made journal entries about the new things that they saw, which was proof of the wonderful land to be settled. Sacagawea lead the two men on this journey across the west, because she could speak Native American and she had a great sense of direction; the whole time she carried a baby on her back. The red line is them heading west, while the blue line is them coming back with the results.
